LFG Welcomes Stephanie Southwick
Law Finance Group (LFG), a leader in the litigation finance industry since 1994, is pleased to announce that Stephanie Southwick has joined the LFG team as a Senior Investment Counselor, based in LFG’s Bay Area office. Previously, Southwick served as an Investment Manager and Legal Counsel for Omni Bridgeway.
To her new role at LFG, Southwick brings nearly 16 years of experience litigating business and trade secret cases for start-ups, tech companies, VCs, manufacturers, real estate developers, family offices, and directors and officers. She will originate and evaluate investments in both litigation portfolios and single cases, helping plaintiffs with meritorious cases obtain non-recourse financing, and working with law firms to leverage their portfolios of commercial and intellectual property litigation as collateral for financing.
“Stephanie is a key addition for LFG,” shared President & CEO Kevin McCaffrey. “She has developed a stellar reputation among leading law firms as both a litigation finance professional and litigator. Adding her to our team deepens our bench strength and signals our continued commitment to growing our portfolio of early stage case investments and law firm portfolios. We could not be more excited to have her onboard.”
Southwick says she was drawn to LFG in large part because of the firm’s combination of a boutique approach and ready capital. “It’s a unique blend, and LFG’s ability to offer personalized service while having ready capital on the balance sheet is exactly what plaintiffs and their law firms need. I’m thrilled to be a part of the team and look forward to working with my colleagues to provide funding opportunities spanning the life cycle of a case from the early days of litigation through final resolution.”
